Me At 36: I'm an airplane vrooom! *runs around with arms stretched out ~in VR~*
It's amazing the extent to which I'm the same person I was as a 6 year old little girl. Right down to wearing my favorite denim overalls all the time, being obsessed with airplanes and robots, wanting to be pretty like other girls, doing mad science experiments, making fun little gadgets, spending long hours alone in the basement, and cleaning office buildings.
@bunny_jane "You'll grow out of it!" nah, what they mean is you'll stop being yourself because you're too scared to have fun because it's not Adultlike. Screw that.
@IceWolf When I became an adult I put away childish things, namely the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.
...we're still working on unlearning that ourselves.
@IceWolf it takes a while! I'm working on it too. It's hard not to care about what other people think when what they think can get you fired or harassed on the street.
...we can never be open with The Normal Humans, and will never be able to. Not just queer, but literal animals, /and plural/ on top of that...
I'm so, so glad the internet exists.
