Just had a chat with my doctor about trying out armodafinil to treat my ADHD+fatigue+sleep apnea. Seems promising.

For weeks I've been getting random calls from some number in Washington DC which I just send to voicemail, and no voicemail is left. Today I finally answered one and after a long pause they asked, "Can I speak to [deadname]?" and they drew out the deadname pronunciation as if it were some weird name they weren't sure how to say (my deadname is not, in fact, an uncommon/rare name).

Anyway I told them they had the wrong number.

well I guess Marvel is doing that a little bit with the endless Spider-Man reboots

DC also isn't afraid to have their various parallel continuities on full confusing display, while Marvel tries really hard for their cinematic/TV stuff to all be in one single specific canon. (Although that might be changing post-Loki.)

Like there's no single DC animation or TV continuity, they all tell the stories as they make the most sense for their own little microcosm. And it's fun to see the different interpretations!

I used to think that Marvel was better than DC because it was a lot more optimistic and hopeful and whereas DC was gritty and grimdark.

But DC has a lot of fun stuff in it, andd in the modern era, DC does a MUCH better job of handling LGBT issues than Marvel.

Another way in which the DCU is superior to the MCU:

Powerful technolibertarian who is well-loved by society at large and nobody suspects as having an ulterior motive, á la Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos.

In MCU it's Tony Stark.

in DCU it's Lex Luthor.

Not bad for my first time ever playing this in doubles.

I also still don't understand how this one's rated 8 when there are plenty of 9s and 10s which are way easier :P

I still can't tell if I like Centaurworld or not.

I definitely find it easier to focus on work when I have music in the background. Unfortunately, the work I'm trying to focus on right now is editing music videos, so that's kind of... unhelpful.

If you make a piece of software, and people are required to use that piece of software in order to, say, pay for their housing or groceries or pay back a loan, you are on the hook to make sure that software works for _every single person_ who needs to use it.

All of them.

Every screen reader user. Every person with muscle issues who can't use a mouse. Everyone who doesn't speak English. Everyone with three first names, or no last name. Everyone who is Irish or Jewish and has a ' in their name. Everyone with slow internet.

EVERY person.

"Oh we don't have the resources to do that!" Great. Then you don't have the resources to make and sell that kind of software. Pack up and go home.

For any blind folks interested, I just got recruited to do a survey for blind iPhone or Samsung users. There is an $80 Amazon gift card as compensation. Figured I’d drop it here.

I finally know what it means to be a grown-up

which is to say, I actually enjoy broccoli now

If I post something weird, please realize that literally no conscious thought went into it.

If I post something *especially* weird, please let @fluffy know.

Okay the best damn thing about having installed smart switches into my house (and I am being 100% sincere and unironic here) is that whenever Tyler takes a stinky smelly poo in the bathroom litter box, I can say "Hey Siri, turn on the bathroom vent," and then the stinky smelly poo smell goes outside.

and also about the person who wrote this copy because like

the situation shown was a manager undermining an employee in a way which led everyone at the company to assume she was incompetent, and lead to a network effect of everyone setting her up for failure
